Booking and Payment
To book, please complete our online booking form. Once we have it, we will send you a contract agreement and a link to a secure payment form.
A deposit is due to confirm the booking of £600 per person, with final payment due 65 days prior to departure.
Payment (in Sterling) may be made by debit or credit card (Visa, Mastercard or UK Maestro) or by BACS payment or international transfer.

A limited number of single rooms are available in some lodges, but these are very limited. In most cases, single travellers will be allocated a double or twin room and a supplement of £150 will be payable.
There will be no supplement for single travellers willing to share a twin room with two single beds, with another member of the group of the same gender. Those who choose to share will always be allocated a room with an en-suite bathroom or a private bathroom.
Changing Your Holiday (Requesting a Different date)
Should you wish to change your booking to another tour date before the final payment is due, an additional charge of £75 per person will be applied to the balance to cover administration costs. Requests for changes after the final payment period will be treated as cancellation and will have be re-booked.
Should you wish to cancel your vacation after your booking has been confirmed, you should write to us. The date of cancellation is the date on which we receive your email or letter.
A sliding scale of cancellation charges applies as follows:
- 65 or more days prior to departure - loss of deposit
- 28-64 days prior to departure - loss 50% of full fee
- Less than 30 days prior departure - loss of full fee
We strongly advise you take out cancellation insurance.
The liability of Hop and Thistle Tours as a tour operator, is strictly limited. Hop and Thistle Tours purchases transport, accommodation and other services from independent suppliers, not under our control. Though we carefully select our suppliers, we serve only as an agent for them in securing tour arrangements. Therefore, we will not accept responsibility for wrongful, negligent or arbitrary acts or omissions of these independent contractors, their employees, agents, servants or representatives.
Hop and Thistle Tours will not be liable for any injury, loss, damage or expense resulting from force majeure or any unforeseen circumstance beyond our control.
Hop and Thistle Tours will only be liable for loss or damage caused by our negligence or by that of someone employed by us.
We have Public Liability Insurance, but we strongly recommend that you take out your own travel insurance to cover personal accident, delays and cancellation etc.
Please return the attached medical form by email. This should alert us of any health issues which might impact on your ability to participate in the walking and other activities that are included in the tour. If in doubt, please consult your doctor for advice.
Am I Fit Enough?
Our walking holidays involves five days' walking with an average of 10km to 15km each day. As a result, participants will have to have a good level of basic fitness. On most days the walks are around three hours, and there are some wet and boggy sections on the trail. The walks include a gradual climb to the summit above Loch Ness at 550m to enjoy the views, but most days involve a mix of gradual inclines and flat terrain, both in the open and through woodland. It is likely that you will spot red deer, as they are abundant in the area. If in doubt about your fitness level, please consult your doctor before booking.
In the unlikely event that you have a concern or complaint during your vacation, please speak to Tom immediately so that he can try to resolve the situation straight away. Should it not be possible to settle the matter instantly, you should put your concerns in writing as soon as possible after your vacation. Delay in doing so may lead to an inability to substantiate your concerns and come to an amicable resolution.
